General information

OPUS GmbH attaches great importance to the protection of your privacy as a user. This applies in particular to the processing of personal data. It is not necessary for you to disclose personal data in order to use our website. However, in certain cases we need your name and address and some other details to process your order. We will point it out accordingly, when this is the case. Furthermore, we only store and process data that you provide voluntarily or automatically.

Collection and processing

Every access to our website and the retrieval of files stored on the website are logged. This includes: retrieved file names, date and time of the retrieval, amount of data transferred, notification of a successful retrieval, web browser and requesting domain. The storage is for internal statistic purposes. Additionally, we log the IP addresses of the requesting computers. We only collect further personal data, if you provide this information voluntarily, for example as part of an inquiry, an order or a registration.

Benefits and disclosure

We will treat the personal data you disclose in a confidential manner and will only reveal them to third parties if required for the order processing, e.g. the disclosure of ordering information to suppliers. Under no circumstances we will rent or sell your personal data or data related to you to third parties for their use.

Personal data will only be used to process your orders, to answer your requests and to internally compile anonymous statistics. Exceptions are made only for services you’ve requested, which include the consent for the use of your data, and the legally required disclosure of your data to state institutions and authorities. The personal data, which has been collected and stored on the basis of your consent, will be disclosed to business partners in the context of contractual agreements insofar as this is necessary in your interest. Of course, our business partners are requested and obliged to comply with the legal privacy policy regulations.

If we advertise for other companies on our website, we will mark it as such. The Regional Court of Hamburg has decided by its judgement of 12 May 1998, "Liability for Links" (312 O 85/98), that by placing a link on your website you may be jointly responsible for the contents of the linked page, i.e. you may be held liable; this can only be prevented by expressly distancing yourself from these contents and OPUS GmbH hereby does reject any kind of liability. OPUS GmbH will not disclose any data to non-EU countries, unless it is necessary for the order processing and explicitly permitted by the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

Right to data portability

You have the right to have data, which is processed on the basis of your consent or in fulfilment of a contract, handed over to you or to a third party in a common and machine-readable format. In case you request a direct transfer of the data to another responsible party, the data will only be provided to the extent that it is technically feasible.

Deletion of personal data

Stored personal data will be deleted, if the user of the website and/or the customer withdraw their consent for storing the data, if their knowledge is no longer required to fulfil the purpose for which they were stored, or if the storage is not permitted for other legal reasons. This shall not affect data for accounting and bookkeeping purposes.

Contract data processing agreement

Our company has executed a Contract Data Processing Agreement with Usercentrics. This is an agreement mandated by data privacy protection legislation that warrants that Usercentrics processes all personal data of our website visitors exclusively in compliance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

Google Analytics

This website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider of this service is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Analytics enables the website operator to analyze the behavior patterns of website visitors. To that end, the website operator receives a variety of user data, such as pages accessed, time spent on the page, the utilized operating system and the user’s origin. IP anonymization

On this website, we have activated the IP anonymization function. As a result, your IP address will be abbreviated by Google within the member states of the European Union or in other states that have ratified the Convention on the European Economic Area prior to its transmission to the United States. The full IP address will be transmitted to one of Google’s servers in the United States and abbreviated there only in exceptional cases. Contract data processing

We have executed a contract data processing agreement with Google and are implementing the stringent provisions of the German data protection agencies to the fullest when using Google Analytics.

Demographic parameters provided by Google Analytics

This website uses the “demographic characteristics” function of Google Analytics, to be able to display to the website visitor compatible ads within the Google advertising network. This allows reports to be created that contain information about the age, gender, and interests of the website visitors. The sources of this information are interest-related advertising by Google as well as visitor data obtained from third-party providers. This data cannot be allocated to a specific individual. You have the option to deactivate this function at any time by making pertinent settings changes for advertising in your Google account or you can generally prohibit the recording of your data by Google Analytics as explained in section “Objection to the recording of data”.

Archiving period

Data on the user or incident level stored by Google linked to cookies, user IDs or advertising IDs (e.g., DoubleClick cookies, Android advertising ID) will be anonymized or deleted after 14 month. Safety information
